I would like to share simple tip this winter season which will help you by minimizing dryness from your skin and hair apart from other benefits which I am revealing soon. Before starting I would like to mention it loud that during my childhood I used to not sleep until the fan is running on the full speed whether I am suffering from the running nose or the high fever.
During one such winter I was suffering from cold and cough and was not allowing anyone at my place to switch the fan off. My beautiful grandmother came and started talking with me on various topics with her hand on my head and my head resting on her lap. What a lovely days those were!
She mentioned so many points to convince me to put the fan off. Read on to check the conversation.
Benefit 1:
She said slowly but very boldly: “My child if you want to recover fast this fan needs to be switched off. Keep away from this cold breeze. Sleep the way you sleep but without the fan (She was referring to let the couple of blankets above me be there but the fan needs to be switched off.) ” .
I said, “No No in the same bold voice.”
She continued, “earlier we never had the fans in our homes still we get the sound sleep.
I replied, “I get sound sleep too.”
Benefit 2:
Granny further said: “If you keep away from this believe me that you will thank me during your old age.”
I naughtily said I will never get old.
She further continued that during the old age pain in the knees and back is not unheard off and this is only because of the unnecessary breeze which we don’t allow ourselves to be away from.
Benefit 3:
Granny: “Your mom keeps on applying moisturizer and body lotions again and again on your face, hands and legs why?” Me: “Simple because my skin gets dry.”
She said switch off the fan and see the difference in your skin next morning.
I said laughingly no.
Benefit 4:
She said: “You will contribute to the environment by saving electricity if you do not wrap yourselves under these blankets and keep the fan off.
I started crying.
She noticed and changed the topic and was there till I went on to sleep. However till the end I did not agree even to reduce the speed of the fan. How stubborn I was!
I grew older; from fan I got the habit of air conditioner and sometimes both. I just love covering myself under the warm blankets and to sleep for hours. Few days back I caught up with fever and running nose. I don’t know why I managed to get up and switch off the fan and A/c. May be my grandmother from above asked me to do so. Within a couple of hour I really felt good. From then on I always keep the A/c switched off and speed of the fan is reduced to the point where I don’t have to wear blankets. Lesser skin and hair dry problems for sure and of course we are contributing something to the environment. If we follow this on day to day basis we will definitely bring some change for sure. Trust me and try it out from today itself.
That is it for now, stay safe and happy sleeping during this wonderful weather.
